For brand and retail buying teams

Apparel Sourcing by Destination

Build the buying brief around the countries where your products will be sold. DALI connects apparel, fabric and trim development with China and Cambodia manufacturing, helping your team align the specification, supplier review, retail pack and delivery requirements for the proposed bulk order.

Destination-specific sourcing

Plan the collection around its destination

For brands, retailers and sourcing teams planning bulk production. Choose the intended market, then connect the product, supplier review, assortment and delivery requirements. These destination guides are separate from the selected export experience shown below.

Finished apparel, fabrics and garment components

Sampling supports a proposed bulk program. For finished products, state pieces, pairs, sets and pack contents clearly. For fabrics and trims, specify composition, construction, dimensions and quantity units.

Regional sourcing guide

United States & Canada

Build a private-label assortment around the buyer's fit reference, selling units and distribution requirements. A US and Canadian program can share product development while keeping destination quantities, artwork and supplier approvals clearly identified.

Product and material planning

For underwear, connect the garment, gusset and waistband specification. For socks, separate production pairs from retail packs. Babywear and sleepwear need the intended wearer and product-testing protocol identified early; fabric and elastic purchases need their own specifications and quantity units.

Country requirements and inquiry checklist

Destination details to resolve

United States
Identify the responsible business, origin and fiber information for label review, together with the applicable care instructions. Add retailer item references, distribution-center requirements and the buyer's product-testing protocol.
Canada
Review Canadian textile disclosure requirements and the applicable English and French wording. Keep Canadian artwork, dealer information and destination quantities identifiable rather than assuming a US label can be reused unchanged.

Useful details for the first inquiry

  • Style, color and measured size breakdown, with pieces, pairs and retail packs distinguished
  • Destination-specific artwork versions, barcode ownership and pack contents
  • Supplier approval manual, required factory records and product test plan
  • Target launch date, delivery location and initial versus replenishment quantities

Regional sourcing guide

European Union

Plan a European collection by the countries where the goods will be sold, not only the location of the buying office. Germany, France and Spain can share a product specification, but label languages, retail packs and destination quantities need a controlled version plan.

Product and material planning

DALI's finished garments, knitted fabrics and elastic components allow product and material requirements to be reviewed together. Connect the intended fiber or recycled-content claim to the actual material records. Agree the product test plan separately from workplace assessments and management-system documents.

Country requirements and inquiry checklist

Destination details to resolve

Germany, France & Spain
Map German, French and Spanish composition wording to the actual countries of sale. Name the buyer's artwork approver and connect each language version to its style, size assortment and selling unit.
Other EU destinations
For the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Sweden or another EU market, add the countries of sale and required language versions to the same allocation plan. A regional distribution center does not by itself identify every destination requirement.
Materials versus finished garments
Separate consumer-ready apparel from business-to-business fabric or trim supply. Review the required composition information and commercial documentation for the actual supply stage rather than applying one garment-label layout to every product.

Useful details for the first inquiry

  • Product category, wearer, common specification and quantities by country of sale
  • Approved label languages, pack versions, material claims and artwork approver
  • Factory assessment requests, material-document scope and product test requirements
  • Importer or responsible business details and delivery allocations supplied by the buyer

Regional sourcing guide

United Kingdom & Ireland

Keep the buying office, countries of sale and delivery destinations separate in the order brief. Collections for Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Ireland need clear product, artwork and shipment allocations even when one buying team manages the range.

Product and material planning

Coordinate underwear multipacks, sock pair packs, babywear size ranges and sleepwear sets with the retail calendar. Confirm whether the request covers a seasonal launch, a replenishment line or material supply, then connect sampling, pack approval and the bulk order to that requirement.

Country requirements and inquiry checklist

Destination details to resolve

Great Britain
Review the applicable UK textile guidance with the buyer and identify the importer, label approver and retailer manual for the proposed order.
Northern Ireland & Ireland
Name these destinations explicitly rather than treating all UK and Irish deliveries as the same shipment. The buyer and import adviser should confirm the applicable product, labeling and commercial-document requirements for each allocation.

Useful details for the first inquiry

  • Style, size and color assortment with quantities for each destination
  • Selling-unit contents, retailer references and label or pack version
  • Launch date, sample decision dates and requested delivery window
  • Buyer manual, factory approval requests and required inspection reports

Regional sourcing guide

Australia & New Zealand

Start with the intended selling season and actual launch date. DALI can review underwear, socks and wider apparel collections against your size specification, pack format and delivery plan without assuming that a northern-hemisphere assortment or calendar is suitable.

Product and material planning

Provide garment measurements rather than only a local size name. Identify whether quantities refer to individual garments, coordinated sets, sock pairs or multipacks. Sleepwear and babywear require the intended wearer and buyer's safety protocol; swimwear needs shell, lining, elastic and fit reviewed together.

Country requirements and inquiry checklist

Destination details to resolve

Australia
Review the applicable care-labelling standard and buyer product requirements. Connect the approved care instructions to the actual fabric, trims and garment construction.
New Zealand
Confirm the applicable care, fiber-content and clothing origin information with the buyer. Keep the New Zealand artwork and destination allocation identifiable even if the collection shares an Australian product specification.

Useful details for the first inquiry

  • Launch date and requested delivery window for each destination
  • Measured size specification, style quantities and selling-unit contents
  • Buyer-approved care wording, composition and artwork versions
  • Sample objectives, testing requirements and distribution or packing instructions

Regional sourcing guide

Middle East

A regional buying office can manage several destinations with different product and import requirements. Identify the final country, importer and channel before approving the collection, Arabic artwork and carton information.

Product and material planning

Discuss underwear, socks, babywear, sleepwear, swimwear, fabrics and elastic components against the buyer's construction, material and assortment requirements. Specify the wearer, coverage or fit brief where relevant rather than inferring product preferences from the region alone.

Country requirements and inquiry checklist

Destination details to resolve

Saudi Arabia
Ask the importer to confirm the current SASO textile requirements and any applicable Saber process for the classified product. Agree the required product information, supporting records and shipment responsibilities before approval.
United Arab Emirates
Identify whether the goods will be sold in the UAE or re-exported. Review the applicable standards and destination requirements with the importer; a Dubai delivery address does not establish the final market's requirements.
Other destinations
Provide the country and importer instructions for each allocation. Approved Arabic wording can support an artwork file, but it is not a substitute for checking the product and shipment requirements of that country.

Useful details for the first inquiry

  • Final country, importer, sales channel and quantities with clear units
  • Approved text, artwork direction and translation approval owner
  • Garment label, retail pack and carton instructions as separate artwork levels
  • Applicable conformity requests, required tests and shipment responsibilities

Regional sourcing guide

Latin America

Prepare a country-specific buying brief for Mexico, Chile, Peru or another Latin American destination. Shared Spanish wording does not establish a common size chart, label requirement, importer arrangement or seasonal calendar.

Product and material planning

Use measured garment specifications and clearly defined quantities for underwear, socks, babywear, sleepwear and swimwear. For fabric or elastic supply, give composition, construction, width and units. Keep destination-specific packaging and the proposed manufacturing site connected to the same buying brief.

Country requirements and inquiry checklist

Destination details to resolve

Mexico
Review the applicable scope of NOM-004-SE-2021 with the importer for consumer textiles and apparel. Industrial fabric or trim inputs need their own scope check; do not assume the same retail-label instructions cover every material purchase.
Chile & Peru
Identify the actual country, buyer-approved Spanish label file, local size reference and launch date. Agree importer details and shipment documents for that destination rather than reusing a Mexican or another country's approval.

Useful details for the first inquiry

  • Country of sale, importer and estimated volume by style and measured size
  • Spanish or other approved wording, pack contents and artwork approver
  • Selling season, collection launch date and requested delivery destination
  • Buyer test protocol, required factory records and shipment-document instructions

Connect supplier review with the proposed production site

DALI's China and Cambodia network brings together materials, garment and sock manufacturing. The team reviews the proposed operation, sampling scope and production requirements for the product. Factory workplace assessments, material records and product test results address different buying questions.

Technical and regulatory references

Check the scope for your product and destination. These references do not establish certification, approval or test results for a DALI product or factory.

Destination notes support procurement preparation, not a complete compliance determination. Confirm current requirements for the actual product, supply stage, origin and country of sale with your buyer and qualified advisers. Import treatment and production timing are agreed for the proposed order.

Frequently asked

Buyer questions

01Can we discuss a destination that is not listed?

Yes. Send the country of sale, product category, estimated bulk volume and buyer requirements. DALI will review the proposed product, manufacturing operation and development scope; a separate country page is not required to begin the discussion.

02Can a collection share one specification across several markets?

A common product specification can be reviewed alongside country-specific sizes, language versions, selling units and shipment allocations. Identify what stays common and what needs separate approval, then connect the quantities and artwork to each destination.

03What is needed for an initial sourcing discussion?

Start with your company, product or material, intended destination, estimated quantity with units and launch or delivery window. Samples, sketches, technical packs and buyer manuals help where available. Sampling supports a proposed bulk order; small-batch production is not offered.

Destination-specific supply

Discuss the range and markets you plan to supply.

Tell DALI where the products will be sold, what you intend to source and the estimated bulk quantities. The team connects product development with supplier approval, retail presentation and delivery requirements.
