Underwear and Socks for Australian and NZ Brands

Define the collection by its fit, selling season and actual launch date. DALI connects underwear and sock development with materials, sample approval and retail-pack planning for Australian and New Zealand brand and retail programs.

Sourcing guidance

Prepare a destination-specific buying brief

01

Use measured specifications for the local size range

An Australian or New Zealand size name alone does not define the fit. For underwear, provide the wearer, silhouette, measurement points, tolerances, fabric and waistband requirements. For socks, identify length, yarn, cuff, construction and the sample measurement method. DALI can review fabric and elastic development alongside the finished product so the material combination and fit reference support the same sample objective.

  • Measured sizes, fit reference and tolerances
  • Underwear fabric, gusset and waistband specification
  • Sock yarn, construction and measurement conditions
02

Give the launch date, not only the season name

State the selling season, launch date and requested delivery window explicitly. A northern-hemisphere range calendar should not be reused without checking the buyer's plan. Identify sample decision dates, material approvals, packaging readiness and any testing that must be completed before production approval. Repeat orders and first developments may have different requirements, so lead time is reviewed for the proposed program rather than assumed from a generic schedule.

  • Collection launch and requested arrival window
  • Sample decisions and outstanding material approvals
  • Initial order versus repeat or replenishment request
03

Reconcile quantities, packs and care artwork

List underwear pieces and sock pairs before converting them into multipacks or other selling units. Specify the size and color combinations, pack materials, barcode references and country allocations. Review the applicable Australian care-labelling standard and the relevant New Zealand care, fiber and origin information with the buyer. Care wording should relate to the actual materials and construction; an artwork file from another range is not a test or approval reference for the new product.

  • Pieces or pairs by size, color and destination
  • Pack contents, barcode data and artwork versions
  • Buyer-approved composition, care and origin information
04

Connect the buyer manual with the manufacturing plan

Provide the retailer's supplier approval requests, workplace assessment needs, product test protocol and packing manual. DALI reviews the proposed China or Cambodia operation and the inspection requirements for the actual product. The wider portfolio also includes babywear, sleepwear, swimwear, fabrics and elastics; identify the intended wearer and application when adding these categories. Delivery location, shipment terms and receiving instructions are agreed separately for the order.

  • Required factory records and material claims
  • Product-specific testing and inspection criteria
  • Destination, shipment terms and receiving requirements

Working files for your destination

Use the working files to organize the information you have. Add the buyer manual, artwork and technical references where available; missing details can be identified during the initial review.

Connect supplier review with the proposed production site

DALI's China and Cambodia network brings together materials, garment and sock manufacturing. The team reviews the proposed operation, sampling scope and production requirements for the product. Factory workplace assessments, material records and product test results address different buying questions.

Technical and regulatory references

Check the scope for your product and destination. These references do not establish certification, approval or test results for a DALI product or factory.

References checked .

Destination notes support procurement preparation, not a complete compliance determination. Confirm current requirements for the actual product, supply stage, origin and country of sale with your buyer and qualified advisers. Import treatment and production timing are agreed for the proposed order.

Frequently asked

Buyer questions

01Does DALI also supply other apparel categories?

Yes. DALI's portfolio includes babywear, sleepwear and swimwear as well as knitted fabrics and elastic components. Share the specification, intended application and quantity units for each category so the development and manufacturing requirements can be reviewed separately.

02How should I describe my seasonal delivery requirements?

Give the actual collection launch date, requested arrival window and destination, together with sample and artwork decision dates. Identify whether this is a new development or a repeat order. Production and shipment timing are then reviewed for the proposed program.

03Can the Australian and New Zealand assortments share a product?

The same base specification can be reviewed with different size allocations, selling units, label versions and carton instructions. Record destination quantities and approval requirements separately where they differ.
