Underwear Packaging and Label Brief
Prepare underwear single-unit or multipack records with explicit contents, label data, artwork versions and carton instructions.
01
Define the selling unit and assortment
State whether the consumer buys one garment, a multipack or a coordinated set. For a multipack, list every component by style, size and color. Three black briefs and one black, one white and one gray brief are different assortments, even when both contain three garments. Keep their buyer item references and artwork records separate.
02
Build labels from the approved product record
Connect size wording to the buyer chart, composition to verified material data, and care wording to its supporting basis. Identify who reviews origin and destination-specific text. FTC guidance addresses key US textile-label fields, while EU guidance addresses composition and language requirements. A familiar retail label should be treated as a visual reference, not evidence for a new order.
03
Specify presentation and packaging dimensions
Share the desired retail presentation and any fixture requirements. Identify folding, retaining band, box or other proposed format. Check the actual sample before settling dimensions, including the relevant size extremes. Link the approved pack artwork to the exact contents and buyer-assigned identifier. Record whether the item data is still provisional before sending files for production.
04
Reconcile quantities and release versions
For 4,000 three-garment packs, the product total is 12,000 garments. If the pack has one garment of each of three colors, each color contributes 4,000 garments. Confirm the carton capacity and how remaining packs will be handled. Keep the order matrix, labels and carton instruction on the same revision. Example quantities explain counting; they are not DALI minimum orders or capacity promises.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Quoting 4,000 units without saying packs or garments.
- Using a reference label's composition for the new product.
- Changing pack contents without reopening item-data approval.
Technical and regulatory references
Check the scope for your product and destination. These references do not establish certification, approval or test results for a DALI product or factory.
- FTC textile and wool labeling guidance
United States textile-label information; confirm the applicable product and exceptions.
- Your Europe textile-label guidance
European Union fiber composition and label-language guidance, not a complete product-safety checklist.

From preparation to development
Discuss the questions that remain open.
Use the guide to organize the information you have, then discuss your product and estimated bulk requirement with DALI. A complete worksheet or technical pack is not required for the first conversation.
