01What AQL means
AQL means Acceptance Quality Limit. A sampling plan uses the lot size and agreed inspection parameters to determine the sample and acceptance criteria. It does not mean every item has been inspected or that a stated percentage of defects is guaranteed.
02Agree the inspection plan
Any published AQL range is an overview, not an order-specific inspection plan. DALI uses AQL references in the 1.0-2.5 range; the applicable values are agreed with the buyer for the actual order.
- Lot identity and size; applicable sampling standard and edition.
- Inspection level and normal, tightened or reduced inspection status.
- Defect classes and the AQL specified for each class.
- Sample size, acceptance number (Ac) and rejection number (Re).
- Action for a failed lot, corrective work and any agreed reinspection.
03Connect findings to the specification
Inspect measurements, construction, workmanship, labels and packing against the approved reference. Record findings, resolve required corrective actions and agree any reinspection before shipment.
